People Magazine's May Issue (with Jessica Simpson on the cover!) chose the Nina Calinda as the chic-smart choice for garden ceremonies: "Wedge heels won't sink in the grass!"
Both Brides Magazine and Destination Weddings Magazine featured the Nina Critia in their newest issues. The canary yellow is a reliably beautiful color, but also notice how the other bride shows off her black pair.
He's holding the king piece, and she's supposed to be the queen! Too cute.
Recently, we invited several journalists to stop by our 17th and Park showroom to see our upcoming styles.

In Chanel’s 2011 Cruise collection, Karl Lagerfeld took inspiration from the beaches of San Tropez as well as iconic Brigitte Bardot films from the sixties and seventies.
The predominantly pastel-colored collection features flowing dresses, denim, sheer gingham shirts, tunics, and loose-fitting linen pants and tops. Even though next spring seems so far away, the styles are relatable, flattering, and appropriate to wear right now.
So if you can't wait for the collection to hit stores in November, incorporate a pastel floral sandal with your favorite tiered dress or add a silver arm band for instant seventies glam.

Well, I decided to grab my Flip camera and turn the tables. For once, these seasoned reporters would experience what it's like to be grilled interviewed!
First up, Morgan from the truly awesome blog Running With Heels. (Seriously, have you heard a better name for a blog? Neither have we.)
Read below for the full transcript:
Matthew: You blog about fashion and shoes. Do you have the best job on the planet?
Morgan: Uh, yes. I hate to brag, but I think I do.
What do you love so much about shoes?
Shoes as an accessory are just so much fun. You can wear a new one everyday. You can switch them up.
I know a lot of girls say this, but no matter what - you gain 10 pounds, you lose 10 pounds - your shoes always fit. Which is so nice.
What do you think has been bloggers' influence on fashion over the last few years?
I think they've made it really accessible. I think it's really nice how traditional media is brining them in, kind of under their wing and opening up to them.
It speaks to the speed we all want to get information at. We can be somewhere and put something up the next day - like posting pictures of this great shoe preview. It just makes it really accessible.
Media used to be a one-way street. Talk about what it's like to be able to truly communicate with your readers nowadays.
You can really have a conversation with people. It's no longer like that one-way communication; it's back-and-forth. You can really find out what people think.
I think it's great for brands, too, because they can test things out with the people who are actually buying their shoes.
The following post ran on Classic Bride, a truly phenomenal blog on vintage-made-modern weddings. Sarah Darcy's motto is 'Redefining Tradition,' and she nails it every time. If you want a good-looking wedding, visit her blog.
As a bride-to-be who works at Nina Shoes, I feel super lucky to be able to share my wedding planning, inspiration, fun finds and tips through work - it's so much fun!
Given CB's excellent taste for all things vintage, I thought I would take this post to to share my venue story. Obviously, I'm a little partial, but it is such a spectacular place with rich history ... My fiancé and I began looking for a venue about two months after our engagement. We were both super torn on location ... Long Island, New Jersey, New York City (where we live) or a complete destination affair?
When I saw an episode of Platinum Weddings where Eda & Dave got married at The HollyHedge Estate in New Hope, PA, I was set on having an outdoor ceremony. I mean, come on, who wouldn't want to get married here? Hello...
That said, ultimately, we decided we would try to pick a location in NYC. Most of our guests live in surrounding areas and we liked the idea of everyone being able to use mass transit once they arrived for the weekend. (Love being green!)
We saw many great venues in the city and surrounding boroughs but none really excited us. Everyone told us we would just know it when we saw it.
Well, they were right! As soon as we walked into The Angel Orensanz Foundation, we looked at each other and just knew! The ideal outdoor ceremony stuff flew right out the window. This is where we would get married...

The Catastrophic Color Coaster
I'm a pretty colorful person. The colors I wear usually express how I am feeling each day. But recently, things went terribly wrong when it came to my wedding palette.
My wedding is in late September, so I was stuck trying to make an autumn palette work for me. I ended up in a stack of harvest-tone tear-outs, none of which really did it for me. Overwhelmed with a sea of oranges, reds and yellows, I finally decided to just take a break from colors for a bit.
About a month later, I came across a magazine spread inspired by a peacock feather. It had nothing to do with weddings, but I was still instantly inspired and knew this palette would be perfect.
The mix of navy and deep emerald was very enchanting, and the white and gold sprinkles were just magic for me!
Embrace What You Love
Here are seven tips for relieving intense palette pressure:
Miss New York USA Davina Reeves, Miss New Jersey USA Chenoa Greene, Miss Delaware USA Julie Citro, and Miss Connecticut USA Ashley Bickford stopped by the Nina Shoes showroom to check out the collection. They'll be wearing Nina Shoes during the swimsuit portion of the Miss USA 2010 competition in Las Vegas.
Miss New Jersey USA Chenoa Greene is a first-degree Black Belt in karate, which means she really looked killer trying on the Nina Rilora. Make sure to catch the Miss USA pageant action starting May 16 by personally following Chenoa Greene on Twitter.
Miss Delaware USA Julie Citro is quick to thank her family and friends for keeping her grounded even as she ascends toward stardom. Which might explain why she looked so good in the comfortable flat Nina Hilaria. Her next few months are jam-packed, as she attempts to graduate from college and win the Miss USA crown. You can follow Julie Citro on Twitter.
Miss Connecticut USA Ashley Bickford holds an MBA and works as a tax accountant. As a child, Ashley trained to be a ballerina, which explains her stunning poses in the Nina Evegena. Learn more on the official Ashley Bickford website and join her Facebook Fan page to follow her throughout the Miss USA Pageant in Las Vegas.
Good luck to Davina, Chenoa, Julie, Ashley, and all the other Miss USA contestants in the 2010 pageant.
