Everyone owns one, some of us have a few. Yes, I'm talking about the Little Black Dress.
This closet staple can carry over from season to season or become event-appropriate in mere minutes with accessories. It's nothing short of a miracle at times, when a shoe or handbag (or both) takes you from the office to a night out on the town.
This great structured LBD from Top Shop can be worn to the office with a low heel like the Paladin or glamed up with the Edlen for after work events!
Paired with the "Elle" and "Edlen," this LBD is perfect for an after-work cocktail party.
Transform your look for a night of dinner and dancing with the girls or a hot date! Stack a set of bangles to complete the look.
Create just the right amount of edge with the "Yaneli" or "Felice."

Be Glamorous!

My husband and I recently had the honor of hosting a surprise engagement party for his youngest sister. I'm very close with my sister-in-laws. They were my Maid & Matron of Honor at my wedding (see how I asked them here). As you can imagine, I was beyond excited!
Keeping a secret this big was almost unbearable. Every time I hung out with her, I was so nervous that I'd blurt out, "YOU'RE GETTING ENGAGED!" and ruin the whole thing. Luckily, I kept my mouth shut and things went off without a hitch.
Her boyfriend made her an AMAZING proposal video (you'll see why all caps were necessary after you watch it!) and popped the big question before blindfolding her and heading to my apartment. We had 25 excited and patiently waiting family members heading up to our rooftop for the main event.
(I told you she was blindfolded. She had no idea where she was!)
(A simple touch to welcome the newly engaged couple)
After loads of hugs and kisses, we all headed back down to my apartment for dessert and drinks. The party was a huge success and went into the wee hours of the night for a few of us. Simple touches made the party extra special for S + J.
(French style macarons from Macaron Cafe, cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery and M&M's from the M&M store in Times Square)
(This super cute heart monogram template is free from The Wedding Chicks. I used it to create a personalized touch to the dessert table.)
(Fun beverages were available for the kids.)
The simplest things can make a big impact when throwing a party. Here are a few quick tips you can use for your next shindig.
Remember, whether you're planning your wedding or just a movie night, small details and a color theme can make it look like you've spent a lifetime planning.
Also, a big congratulations to S + J on their engagement!

As seen at JustJared.com, Nicole Polizzi (a.k.a. Snooki) arrived in Florence, Italy to begin taping the fourth season of Jersey Shore wearing Nina Yaneli in bark suede. Bellissima!

(The New York Weddings Event)
Local wedding shows are a great way to find inspiration and trusted vendors for your upcoming nuptials. While planning my own wedding, I dragged many friends and even my fiance to a number of events. Most were lovely and some were, well, how do I put this.... Let's just say I ran for the exit when the band exclaimed, "congo line!" at one event. Yikes!
There are two particular events that I adored and have now become a regular attendee: The Wedding Salon and New York Weddings Event. Both shows are so well done, and I would encourage every bride to attend.
I sadly missed this year's NY Wedding event but was ecstatic to take one of my newly engaged besties to The Wedding Salon. It was no disappointment. We took part in champagne and cake tastings, make-up trials and swooned over enchanting table displays. Take a look...
(Our favorite table display designed by The Newport Experience)
(In need of a swanky travel agent? LTG)
(The main floor of the show)
(The Swag Bag! Oh and my besties new bling, yay!)
Thanks again to The Wedding Salon for always throwing such a great event. Brides, search for your local wedding shows, grab a friend and get inspired!

If you want to rally the girls for your "Last Night Out" in theme without the cheese factor, take a look at these cheeky tees from the new Nina Bridal collection. At $45, these tees could serve as just a little something extra for your dearest friends. And hey, they can wear it again for their "Last Night Out" or another friends bachelorette bash.
Personally, I'm obsessed with this one (watch the embedded video there to see why). The ultra soft fabric and longer length makes the tees uber-comfy and the sequin hemline gives it extra flair. Check out more styles here. Many can transition into your wardrobe even after the wedding day. Paired with a blazer and jeans or comfy yoga pants to glam these cute tees up or down!
Wishing you all glamorous planning!
